University for all/Further education
As an educational partner, the University of Graz wishes to play an active role as a point of contact for people of all ages. Hence the university is not only interested in educating students, but wants to accompany other interested people of all generations throughout their lives. By offering educational opportunities such as the Montagsakademie, Megaphon.Uni and Vita activa, the University of Graz provides high-quality scientific courses to the wider public for the benefit of an active society and life in general.
In order to strengthen its role in society, institutionalise and make interdisciplinarity more visible, the University of Graz founded the so-called 7th Faculty – the Centre for Society, Knowledge and Communication – in addition to the six existing faculties. Under this umbrella brand, the university bundles initiatives for “Science to public” such as the University Museums, and fosters the building of networks between university units in the sector of public awareness.
